WTF is MUD\WTR
MUD\WTR started when I realized the way I was using caffeine wasn’t helping me feel the way I wanted to feel. Coffee wasn’t the enemy. Too much caffeine was. I wanted a way to rise that supported my mind instead of spinning it out.
So I got curious. I looked at my habits — the ones I’d never questioned — and asked whether they were actually helping me show up as myself. That question led to a new kind of ritual, one built around functional mushrooms and a more intentional way to begin the day.
From there, MUD\WTR became less about a single product and more about a simple idea: healthy habits create healthy minds. Over time, that’s grown into rituals that help you rise, rest, and nourish yourself with a little more awareness.
All it takes is one lead domino — a small shift that quietly changes everything else.

Our Original blend contains a fraction of the caffeine found in coffee. On average, coffee contains 90-100mg of caffeine. That can vary up to +/-30mg, depending on the beans and the roasting method, according to the FDA. Meanwhile, Original has around 35mg of caffeine per serving.

You’re correct that oats and products made with oats are eliminated during Whole30. Whole30 HQ has made an exception to that rule for MUD\WTR as we use organic oats that are used as material to culture the mushroom blend. Because oats are not present in significant amounts in the final product, Whole30 determined MUD\WTR is still Whole30 Approved and compatible during the program.

Where many source their mushrooms from China, we decided to stick a little closer to home. All of our mushrooms are 100% organically grown in California on gluten-free oats, under clean air, and selected for their unique capacity to support mental AND physical functions.

MUD\WTR uses Cordyceps militaris, one of the most researched species of cordyceps. Studies suggest it may support energy, endurance, and immune function:
